Officers from the Specialist Crime & Operations unit investigating the allegation of a rape of a woman in Hackney are appealing for a witness to come forward and assist police.
The man, who police stress is not a suspect, is believed to have entered the address in Elvin House, Morning Lane, Hackney E9 whilst the incidents was taking place. Police believe he assisted the victim and may hold vital information about the attack.
The incident took place on Friday, 28 February between 4:45 AM – 5:00 AM
The potential witness is described as white, approximately 5ft 10 ins, of slim build, in his early 20s with short brown hair and dark brown eyes.
A man has been arrested and charged in relation to this offence and remains in custody.
