Shereka Marsh: Police confirm cause of death

Detectives investigating a fatal shooting of a 15 year old Urnswick School student in Hackney Wick yesterday, say she has been formally identified as Shereka Fab-Ann Marsh.

A post-mortem examination has also taken place today, 23 March, at Poplar Mortuary and gave cause of death as a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police were called shortly before 4:00 PM on Saturday, 22 March, to a girl shot inside a house in Eastway, E9. The house was not Shereka’s address.

Paramedics and the London Air Ambulance were unable to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene. A gun was found at the house in Eastway. Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy were arrested near to the scene on suspicion of murder. They were taken to an east London police station, where they remain in custody.
