Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed Lamarni Hylton-Reid’s murder in Homerton or have any information, to contact them.

The 20 year old from Warwick Grove in Upper Clapton, died at an East London hospital, two hours after he was stabbed near the junction of Homerton High Street and Kenworthy Road, just after 5pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Although police have yet to release a motive, chatter on Twitter have indicated there was an argument over £5.

Resident Daniel Stanley, 36, said he saw two men running down a side road just after the stabbing.

“I didn’t see him get stabbed, but from my house I saw two black boys running away. They had hoods up and they were running quickly away from somewhere towards the Kingsmead Estate.

He added: ‘They had hoods up and they were running quickly away from somewhere. It is terrifying because I live here with my wife and daughter.”

No arrests have been made.

Along with tributes on  Twitter, a Facebook page has been set up in his memory.
