Murder inquiry underway after two stabbings in Upper Clapton flats


A 30 year old man was pronounced dead at a flat in Lee View House, Jessam Avenue last night at 9:10pm (Saturday 4th May) after police and paramedics were called to reports of an injured man.

Earlier in the evening at 7pm,  a 29 year old man took himself to an east London hospital suffering from stab wounds. He is in a non life threatening condition in hospital.  He has also been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 45 year old man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

Detectives are aware that an argument took place outside the address at approx 4pm between three men.

An incident room has opened under Det. Chief Inspector Neale Bladock.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Jessam Avenue between 3pm and 9pm yesterday. They are asked to call 0208 345 1570.
