Man rescued from flat during early morning Stamford Hill fire

Firefighters rescued a man from a flat fire in Joseph Court in, Amhurst Park Road, Stamford Hill, in the early hours of this morning.

He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service suffering from minor burns and smoke inhalation. Two women escaped the flat before firefighters arrived, one of whom was taken to hospital as a precaution. A flat on the fifth floor was damaged by the blaze.

Three fire engines from Tottenham and Stoke Newington fire station attended the scene. The Brigade was called at 2.37am  and the fire was under control at 3.04am

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
