Murder investigation underway in Clapton after man found dead

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died in Hackney.

Police were called at 10:41 pm on Friday 18 January to reports of a fight at an address in Pembury Close, E5.

Police and London Ambulance Service who attended found a 40-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have yet to be informed. A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be arranged in due course.

Two people have been arrested. A 38-year-old man who was taken to hospital has been arrested in connection with the incident along with a 38-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC) are investigating.
