A night of music & art at The Kenton Arms

Tolerance International UK is hosting an event to raise awareness about our organisation and thework we do in communities London-wide. On the 23 rd February, at 7:30 pm, the West Kensingtonbased charity will host an event at the Kenton Arms Pub in Hackney, exhibiting works of up-and-coming by artists Hannah Habibi and Mo Negm, as well as music by singers/songwriters RichardStaines, Mariam Saidan, Ashley Cowan, Susanna Hellden and popular indie band MY SINGLE LINE.Tolerance International UK is a London-based charity delivering unique workshops to youth inBoroughs across London.

Through discussion- and drama-based sessions, the Embracing ToleranceProgramme encourages children to express their opinions on racial and religious stereotypes withoutfeeling judged.

The event brings together artists and musicians from all different backgrounds topresent their talents in efforts to raise awareness about the issues concerning youth today, as well awareness of the organisation into the Borough of Hackney.

Provoking and dynamic worksby Hannah Habibi force viewers to challenge their conceptions ofMuslim women and the Muslim world, while complimentary paintings by Mo Negm contrast UK and Arabic urban images. Musical performances for the night willbe a mix of Iranian folk music, blues-inspired songs and acoustic versions of indie music.

Singersongwriters Richard Staines and Ashley Cowan’s music is a mix of jazz/blues/folk, whilemusicians Mariam Saidan and Susanna Hellden bring soulful vocals to the mix. Final performance of the evening, by popular indie band My Single Line, will showcase an acousticversion of the three-piece bands’ songs that draw on interesting influences to cerate a well-roundedand exciting sound
