Eight arrested over Upper Clapton New Years Shooting

Police are appealing for witnesses to the New Years morning shooting, of a 23 year old man in Upper Clapton Road.  The man was found with gunshot wounds to his chest outside Hendale House, Northwold Road E5, and remains in stable condition at an east London hospital.

It’s believed a fight broke out, outside the Olympia Eatery at just after 6 am January 1st, where a party was being held. The victim is not believed to have been part of the altercation.

With between 100 and 150 people attending, police are hoping witness will come forward with information.

Eight men where arrested the same day of the incident and have been bailed to return to a police station in February.

Police also recovered a gun during their investigations at a house in Harrowgate Rd in South Hackney. As yet, they have mot be able to confirm it was the gun used in the shooting.
