A cyclist died after a collision while cycling this morning. The accident took place at…
The female cyclist involved in Thursdays collision has been named as 24 year old Arina Romanova. She was travelling south in Navarino Road and the taxi was travelling along Graham Road, when the collision happened.
Ms Romanova of Amhurst Road, who is a native of Latvia, arrived in London in June and was on her way to her second day at work in Liverpool Street. She was cycling on a blue fold up Raleigh bike, when she cycled in front of the black cab.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen her as she approached the junction of Graham Road.
DS Joe Lock said: “We are appealing for further witnesses who may have seen the incident or Ms Romanova cycling down the road to help us piece together what happened.
“It does not seem she was riding erratically but it would appear she did not even attempt to stop at the junction so there may have been some distraction for her.”
Ms Romanova remains in hospital and is in an induced coma.
