A Summer Guide For Hackney Kids & Teenagers: 0 – 19 Yrs


Summer is here, the school holidays have began, but what to do with the children.

Don’t panic, children and even hard to please teenagers will find a host of activities within the borough.

There are playgroups and play centres for toddlers, face painting, story telling at the library and even a teddy bears picnic.  Older children can row on the river lea, participate in dance work shops, drama, jewellry making, Taekwondo, Rugby, Football, Tennis camp.

Children and young people can also take part in athletic wheelchair racing, T Shirt painting and media training.

You can even experience the thrills of the high seas, while you take part in six weeks Tall Ship Challenge and learn skills like teamwork, decision making and leadership.

Local museums such as Hackney Museum, Geffrye  Museum and the V & A Museum of Childhood, will be hosting different events for all age groups.

The big smoke is home for the moment, but she desperately yearns wide open spaces, where she hopes to call home in the near future.
