Officers from Hackney Downs Safer Neighbourhood Team and Hackney’s Operation Crackdown Project Team successfully closed a house in Downs Park Road on March 31.
Police were able to shut the house down after Paul Telfer, 34, and Susan Ogarro, 44, of no fixed abode, were sentenced at Thames Magistrate Court on March 20. They were fined and ordered to pay costs.
The lawful tenant of the property was arrested on Monday March 29 on suspicion of abstracting electricity and is currently being held in immigration detention.
Sergeant Barrie Beyler from Hackney Downs Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We hope that by closing this property we are sending out a clear message that drugs and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
