Homerton Woman Shot Named

Gulistan Subasi, shot dead on Monday

The 26 year old woman shot in Homerton on Monday evening has been named as Gulistan Subasi.

She was shot in the chest when she opened the door to the gunman on Monday at about 8.30 pm at her mothers flat on the Kingsmead Estate in Homerton, E9. It’s believed the gunman escaped immediately after by foot heading towards Meeson Street.

He is described as approximately 6ft tall, slim build, wearing a light coloured hooded top, light coloured trousers and a rucksack on his back. His face may have been covered and he may have been wearing gloves.

DCI Jackie Sebire, of the Homicide and Serious Command said: “I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting, including anyone who was inside or close to Aysal Food Market, situated below the flat, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact us.

“I also appeal to anyone who was not in the area but may have information that can assist our enquiries, no matter how small or insignificant they feel it might be, to contact us.

“We are keeping an open mind regards a motive at this early stage of the investigation and all lines of enquiry remain open.”
