Sound Advice UK’s Acoustic Sundays celebrates three years in Hackney
Crypt Cafe, St Peter’s Church, De Beauvoir, Hackney, N1 4DA
2.00pm – 7.00pm
On Sunday 6th of March 2016, Acoustic Sundays will celebrate 3 years of monthly live music at St. Peter’s Crypt Cafe in Hackney and the team is inviting everyone to join the party!
From 2pm, our Master of Ceremonies and award winning comedian James Ross will lead the audience through an unforgettable afternoon of relaxed festivity and superb music from a selection of hand-picked performers.
Following surprise sets from up-and-coming open mic musicians, we’ll see:
Ben Murphie & Band – Americana folk/blues by way of North London. Fingerpicked guitar and banjo melodies hammered out against country harmonies to make a sound rougher than bootleg whiskey and smoother than summer rain
Kawala – “Without doubt one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from London this year” – Mahogany
The Porcupine Dilemma – A fusion of gentle harmonies with politically-charged, melancholic lyrics
Bernard Hoskin – A distinctive and original sound, based upon English songwriting and world music rhythms as well as the more common folk, country and blues styles
The audience is an essential part of the Acoustic Sundays atmosphere and to show our appreciation on our third birthday, we’ll be asking them to pop their name in a hat to enter our prize draw. The lucky winners will receive a special gift including a selection of beers and soft drinks plus copies of our very own album ‘One.’
With support from Hackney Giving, Acoustic Sundays have begun to offer free media training to local young people. This team of Youth Media Creatives (YMCs) are given access to training and kit required to produce professional videos of each performance. This month we’ll welcome more Youth Media Creatives to join us, providing them with a valuable opportunity to gain experience needed for working in the creative industries.
Also this month, London’s original fish finger bad boys 2 Fingers will be back in residence providing some much needed sustenance with their delectable fish finger sandwiches to keep those hunger pangs at bay.
Our reasonably priced bar will be fuelling the party atmosphere, selling a variety of wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks plus the team will be concocting a special birthday punch!
Join us at the Crypt Cafe on the 6th March– the party starts at 2pm!
