Man escapes Hoxton flat badly damaged

Four fire engines, 21 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire on Cropley Street in Hoxton on Saturday morning.

The fire badly damaged a flat on the fourth floor of the eight storey block and one man left the property before the Brigade arrived.

The Brigade was called at 11:26 am and the fire was under control by 12:51 pm.

Fire crews from Dowgate, Whitechapel, Kingsland and Euston attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
