The man found hanged on a tree in Chadwell Heath, Essex on Monday morning, has been named as 40 year old Met Police officer, Det Con Jason Robinson. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Robinson, a married father of four children aged between 7 and 17, was based in Hackney. He was found by a neighbour in Percival Gardens in Chadwell Heath, Redbridge.
In December 2011, he returned to Hackney after being assigned to the Met’s serious and organized crime unit for a number of years. Prior to that he had been in Hackney between 1997 and 20o3.
Chief Superintendent Matthew Horne, Borough Commander for Hackney, said: “Jason’s death is a tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues. We are all extremely shocked and saddened by his sudden death and will be working with his family to offer any support they may need at this time. He was an outstanding policeman and detective and will be sorely missed by us all.”
An Inquest was opened and adjourned at Walthamstow Coroner’s Court on Wednesday 16 May
On Sunday, a police officer based at City Airport was found with a gunshot wound to his head. PC Kenny Cornelius died a short while later. The indications are that he sadly took his own life.
