On Monday 15th August, exactly a week and almost a minute to the day violent and ugly disturbances broke out in Hackney, Clarence Road will host a tea party for the people of the area. Clarence Road was the worst affected part during the riot, but will be closed off to traffic for the party.
It is being organised by St Johns Church which saw a stand off between rioters and police last Monday, and sponsored by the Hackney’s Marks and Spencer’s, Hackney Council and other local businesses. It will be non partisan, a time to reflect, socialise and meet others.
To volunteer your time to help set up tables and chairs, meet up at St Johns E5 at 4.30PM.
Cake and tea and chin wagging kicks of at 5PM.
Have fun!
