A pregnant 38 year old woman and 56 year old man were hit by a shops wooden beam on Kingsland Road in Dalston yesterday morning. It happened at about 11 am outside Barclays 4 Bikes near Dalston Junction station.
Police say the couples condition is being continuously assessed, but it didn’t appear any of the injuries were life threatening after initial assessment at the scene.
The baby has not been harmed while the woman has suffered leg injuries and the man back injuries which have been described as not life threatening.
A witness who was not too far from the incident, said: “I didn’t see the beam fall, but heard a commotion. When I looked out I saw an obviously pregnant woman laying on the ground.”
