World War Two bomb discovered in Hackney

A world war 2 bomb was discovered in an Eleanor Road garden near Hackney Central, by builders this morning at around 10 am.

Nearby residents were moved to safety, while police closed Eleanor Road and part of Wilton way.

Bomb disposal experts examined the artillery shell and are removing it for further tests.

The area has since been declared safe and roads are now open.
