Police were called to London Fields last night at 10:45 pm following reports of gunshots but didn’t find a victim.
Following further enquiries they were told the boy had been admitted to an east London hospital, where he remains after being treated for a graze to his forehead. His wound is not life threatening or life changing.
Investigators were still at the scene this morning with sections of London Fields taped off.
The incident is being investigated by the Trident North East Shootings team.
