A unique out door festival comes to Hackney, this time in Victoria Park on  Sunday, 7 August.  Apple Cart is a festival for all – offering entertainment to Adults, teens and kiddies. Imagine a day of music, comedy, art, magic and children’s entertainment.  It’s a new take on the festival experience.

Brought to you by the same people behind Underage Festival and Field Day, it will appeal to older festival goers and families.

After a little tumble last year, they have arranged a helluva line up this summer that includes, Tim Minchin, Saint Etienne, Giles Peterson, two time Grammy award winners Soul II Soul, Badly Drawn Boys, Kevin Rowland (Dexys Midnight Runners), Gavin Turk and Josh Knowles present ‘Candlelit Matinee’,  The Art Car Boot Fair will head out of it’s Brick Lane car park, David Weeks and Oliver Tabor are just two of the magical acts and for young people - The House of Fairy Tales.

The acclaimed Venn Street Market, a local street market  from Clapham Common, will host a whole array of delights at The Apple Cart including the fantastic Hog Roast from Clapham’s award winning butcher Moen & Sons; Portena’s traditional Argentine Empanadas and Chipa Cheese dough balls with Chimichurri Sauce, Yam the Cassava’s amazing authentic Creole Fish Cakes and Banana Fritters; Popina’s and Sweet’s freshly baked artisan sweet and savoury pastries, cakes and other treats; prize winning Vietnamese coffee from Ca Phe VN – and if that wasn’t enough, The Coconut King will be bringing fresh coconuts to eat and drink all day long – simply couldn’t be tastier.

Hackney Hive will be offering 2 pairs of tickets  to some lucky winners, of a competition to be announced soon!
