Actor Director David Schwimmer and his former Hackney girl, Zoe Buckman have welcome a baby girl they have named Cleo.

The baby was delivered by C section on 8 May in New York, but they only released the news today via a spokesperson. Later Schwimmer posted a photo on his Twitter account saying “Hey everyone. Please welcome my daughter, Cleo, to this crazy but wonderful world.”  Schwimmer 44, best known for his role as Ross on TV comedy Friends met 25 year old Zoe in 2007 when she worked as a waitress at the Cuckoo club in London.

Soon after part time photographer Zoe, moved to Los Angeles and married in June last year. There was buzz earlier this year about the pair buying a home in Stoke Newington, where Schwimmer spent Christmas a few years ago.

Stoke Newington isn’t his only connection to Hackney. In just a few days, Schwimmer will say bye bye to little Cleo and Zoe when he heads for Dalston’s Arcola Theartre, where he will host a GALA performance on 27th May of Pandora, a play written by Jennie Buckman, baby Cleo’s grand ma.

Schwimmer is a patron of  Standing on Giants Shoulders production company whose productions are regularly performed at the Arcola. Jennie Buckman serves as Artistic Director.
