Hackney – The Best Democracy One Can Stifle

Yesterday we reported The Hackney Citizen had broken a story of what seemed like an attempt by Hackney council to mislead people into thinking there was no Conservative party member contesting the Hackney mayoral seat.

Today, they are reporting the council are demanding Hackney Citizen remove the audio link of  Tory mayoral candidate – Andrew Boff’s phone conversation with a council employee who confirmed, what concerned Hackney residents were reporting.

The letter sent from Hackney Council’s Legal and Democratic services, states a court injunction will be sought if the audio link is not removed from the Citizen’s website.
