Stoke Newington Sainsbury saga: Now they are being two faced

I wasn’t surprised by the actions of some members of  Stokey Local, a loose ensemble of people who are against the proposal of a new S ainsburys in Stoke Newington.  The hypocrisy and nastiness of these people pretty much sums them and the whole movement of people in various enclaves of Hackney, who feel they are the gate keepers.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

I hope everyone notes that all the Stokey Locals, who are now calling for Mr Atique Choudry's shops to be boycotted, are only exposing two things;
a) their hypocrisy in declaring Mr Choudry's "vested interest" as a justification for a boycott, whilst the "vested interest" in other shopkeepers' decisions to join the anti-supermarket campaign are ignored. (Or do they think that residents in support of the supermarket should be boycotting those shops who support Stokey Local?) And;
b) their ability to split communities and cause conflict, whilst simultaneously declaring that "the campaign reflects the whole of our community" [Debora Robertson].

Stokey Local isn’t a community group. It’s an anti-community group. It seeks to divide the community with the desire that the concerns of a minority take precendence over the majority.
In trying to keep Sainsbury’s out of Church Street, they are in effect attempting to keep consumer prices high in order to keep the less affluent out of Church Street and maintain its exclusivity.
